I have been looking**over my boat today (1984 Champion 168 w/1986 Johnson VRO GT 150) trying to make the speedometer work.

Started under the console and blew air**through the tube after taking off the back of the speedometer.

Had my wife go to the back of the boat and listen for air escaping.**She found the tube inside the motor cover just laying there with a small plastic "L" connector at the end of it.

I blew air into it using my air compressor and the speedometer deflected perfectly.

So I began a search**for where to connect it under the cowling, but have come up with a blank, so far.

I know the pitot is located at the front side of the lower unit. I can't find where the tube from the speedometer connects under the cowling.

Any pictures or ideas**would be great appreciated

I believe there is supposed to be a short hose the comes from the front top part where the upper and lower come together. Fitting on top of lower by the shift shaft, inside housing that's why there is a hose to hook to.
