I started a floor replacement project on a 1984 Chris Craft Scorpion. The floor was nothing but powder, and the transom is the same way. I have yet to cut into the stringers, but can't believe that they are in any better condition.
here is a link the what the floor was like.
I have also add a few pics of the partial tear down.

I'm looking for ideas on how to deal with the front sections. the front seats and helm are one continuous piece of fiberglass. I need to replace the floor and most likely the stringers under it. I have not really worked with fiberglass as far as finishing it and making it look good. I have done some structural stuff.
Can I cut the top off of the stringers and just replace the wood inside? Or cut them partway and use the existing tabs to tie new stingers to? I have also heard that it's possible to sister new stingers in and just leave the old stuff there. what are the con's to that approach?
