Hi all!

I just made a trade for a 1984 CSS... I'm confused on the model as it appears to be a little over 16' long, but the riveted plate says its the CSS180B...the 18' model. I'm guessing it's the CSS160, but I'm not sure.

I'm totally new to boats and plan on replacing the floor and interior in this beast. the interior is gone and the floor needs replaced for sure. Most likely some stringer work as well.

When the time comes, what size motor would you recommend? I have an 1970 Evinrude 85HP from another boat I was going to fix up, until I found this one, but I'm afraid it may be too small. Again, I'm a total noob. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Those are sharp boats. Maybe someone here can speak to the length question. Got any pics?

Second what @ShoestringMariner said. Need pics of the hull and the decal you are referring to.

Sorry for the long delay. You know, life. Anyway, it's titled a CSS160B and it's a little over 16' long, so that pretty much settles that. It's funny that the plate is labeled a CSS180B though. I don't know if it was after the fact or a mistake at the factory. At any rate, here's the pics.

If someone has a plate from a CSS160B they can share, that would be awesome!

Thanks!

Yep, I've seen that. Thanks for looking though! I don't know if it is the age or the model of boat, but there isn't a lot of info out there!

Contacted Starcraft and they confirmed the CSS160B. I knew it was but was thrown by the capacity plate. They offered to send me a correct plate for free, since it was a factory defect, lol. Pretty awesome of them, IMO!
