1984 Envirude 60 hp idle jetting

I was wondering if anybody has changed there idle jets leaner, if so are they air jets or fuel jets as far as going bigger or smaller. My motor loads up at idle after 5-10 minutes and I thought I would lean it up a bit.<br />Can I get different jets at my dealer?

Howdy shcweg. Before changing out jets, there are some other variables you need to address first. An engine loading up can be caused by a couple different problems....one is engine temp. Is your engine running at temp spec at idle..('bout 143*). <br /><br />Fuel system, carbs clean and fuel lines good? Sync & link OK....throttle plates closed at idle speeds? <br /><br />Ignition system good....hot spark to each cylinder.<br /><br />Just changing out the idle air jets to cure the problem is not really the thing to do unless you know FOR SURE, that is the problem. If you get them to lean, you could end up wiping the cylinders....loopers hate lean.
