My 1984 Evinrude on a 17.5ft venture bass boat dies sometimes when accelerating. On first take off the motor run and planes out fine, but once the engine is warm it will often bog down and even die when trying to get on a plane. Sometimes pushing the choke helps, but other times it does not. We have tried pumping the bubble before starting and while accelerating, but it does not seem to help. I had a similar problem over the winter when the timing was not advancing, but that should be fixed, and never caused the engine to die. I was thinking it may be a problem with the carburetors or some form of vapor lock, but I am not sure any help would be appreciated.
