hi guys... long time no posts from me...just got my second boat and at least this one works right......! my question is about the cowl vents on the side in the rear of the boat. my driver side vent is facing out the back of the boat which looks right to me cause when water splashes up on the vent it just goes right around the vent but on my passenger side the vent is reversed with the tabs on the vent facing the front of the boat. to me it doesnt look right and second when i cruising the water splashes up really close to the vent and some goes in but not much.... still very scary not knowing the truth as to if the vent should be reversed to face the back of the boat.....any info would really help as to the fact i cannot find any pics of my boat when they came out.......thanks for the help in advance:facepalm:

The vents pointing in opposite directions is typical and meant to promote in/out airflow at speed.

What ezmobee said!, It creates a flow of air while under way. Theres a "Splashbox" under the vent (usually) that keeps the water from getting all the way into the boat. Its a plastic rectangular box with an outlet underneath that the vent hose connects to.
