1984 hydrasport steering cables

I have a 1984 hydra sport fishing boat that is very hard to steer. I have searched for replacements but cannot find any. The cables say on them detmar g8 13 ft system. Do they make replacements or can you clean them out somehow. Thanks for the help.

Welcome aboard.

Are you sure the cables are failing? The rack and pinion or steering swivel could be the culprit. Also, a new rack steering system isn't much more than the cost of just the cable. I'm assuming R&P steering because that's all Detmar shows on site. After 30 some years, it might be time for all new parts.
