1984 Johnson 35hp 2 stroke - Ignition Switch Wiring

Hello, I have a 1984 Johnson 35hp motor and trying to connect it to a newer ignition switch, that came with a newer remote box. The old wire colors are: white, light blue/white stripe, light blue, purple/white stripe, and red/blue stripe.

The new ignition switch wiring colors are: purple, purple/white str., yellow/red str., black, black/white str., and red.How do I connect the old wires (from the boat) to the new ignition switch wires?

Go to the maxrules web site and find a wiring diagram for your motor. Or just trace 'em out.

The new ign switch has the new wiring color codes. Red is battery, purple is ign power, yellow/red is starter solenoid, purple/white is choke. Black is ground. The black/white is ign killer.
