i just bought a 1984 mariner outboard on a boat i just bought. It starts right up and once it warmes up for a min it starts pumping qater out the tell tale hole but in the middle of the shaft there is a exhaust hole on line i have seen these motkrs running on a hose and water coming out that exhaust hole .mine does not . The pee hole does pump out nice warm water . Should i worry about cooling or just run it and see . I dont want to take it on the lake and it over heat and leave me stranded . Or just go ahead and put in a impeller??? What do you think??
