Howdy all , I just bought a 115 hp Merc with a jet on it . I bought it for the jet and was going to use the motor for parts as I was looking at another 115 as my runner.I would like to try and run the motor and then run a compression test . I have a flushing tool that screws into the water system somewhere around where the jet is bolted on. I can not seem to locate the stainless steel bolt head that is supposed to be there that is removed to screw in the flushing nipple .
Please remember that this is a JET not a prop . I have surfed the net and found information about the flushing hole bolt but there does not seem to be one on this motor. What am I doing wrong ??? see pics.

Alright , since once again I get no advise , I will answer my own question to that someone else might benifit from what I have found. There is no port to run water through the jet on the midsection or the jet itself. So in finding this out I began to take the jet off as I also have the prop lower . I stopped before I got it all the way off and talked to the guy that I bought the motor from and he simply said that he had removed the jet and attached a water hose to the water tube intake . Easy enough and now that I have finished grouting the tile I just laid in the front bathroom I will have a couple of days to get back on it. On to the compression test results.new topic
