1984 Merc 50 HP - No Power

The motor starts up good when cold or warm. I got out of the no wake zone and opened it op and went about 1000 yards and it started to bog down. I cruised a bit more and then it opened up again for about 30 seconds and bogged down again. while in gear at idle speed, if I push the switch (choke) it wants to kill the engine. I checked the external fuel lines and did find a loose clamp. So I tightened it and... it did not help.

I plan on replacing the plugs tonight and checking for spark. Any other thoughts?

I pulled the carbs last year and rebuilt them.

Did some trouble shooting tonight and the plugs looked horrible. Of course, I replaced them. Next I checked for spark and found a lot of spark jumping at the bottoms coil and I am hopping that is the only problem. I will pick one up tomorrow and see how it runs after that.
