1984 merc 60 HP vs 1975 evinrude 85 HP swap.is it worth it

Both run great but I heard the year difference with ratings and mercs being underated it might not be worth the time and extra fuel

You'd be going almost 10 years backwards. Not usually the direction you want to go. And yes, rating method changed in that time. The Evinrude is crank rated and the Merc prop.
