I have a 1983 J150TLCTE, the rings are stuck on the starboard side, and the powerhead needs to be rebuilt. I got a good deal on a rebuilt powerhead. On my 1983 the recirculation lines are routed to the intake bypass covers. On the 1984, the bypass covers have no nipples. I could swap the bypass covers, but, the colors are different(petty I know), and I intend to rebuild the 1983 this winter.

I have a 1983 factory service manual, which, I believe, should work for the 1984. (with the exception of the reciculation lines)

I was hoping someone might be willing to post, or describe the line routing for a 1984.

If you are sure the block is a 84, the reciu hose should be connected like the 84. Reason, main bearing lubrication.

The seller is sure it is a 1984. My motor is a 1983, my OMC factory manual is a 1983. I would like to see the 1984 recirculation routing. I will swap my old intake and bypass covers on before I spend 120.00 on a manual just to find the hose routing.

The bottom 3 recirculation lines tie into the 4 way adaptor, with the remaining (fourth) nipple on the adaptor connecting to the lower of the extra 2 manifold nipples (the ones not present on your 1983) the 3 remaining recirc valves tie into the other 4-way, and the upper bonus nipple on the intake. Good luck and have fun.
