1984 OMC 3.0 Killswitch Install

I’m trying to connect two wire ignition killswitch to the ignition wires. Wires on the ignition switch are three reds, two purples, and a yellow/red stripe. Tried different combinations. Thought white wire from killswitch went to the two purples, and black wire from killlswitch went to ground, but that didn’t cut off. Any help? Thanks.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... One of the purple wires goes to the motor's ignition,.....
Figure out which one, cut it, 'n wire the kill switch in between the two ends of that wire,....
