I am lucky enough to be the "fishing coach" at our local high school. We just had an 1984 Ranger with 150 Merc donated to our program. We invested $860 to have the motor worked on. Now the biggest problem is the clearcoat/gelcoat finish. It has started to peel off in flakes. The biggest problem is the top cap of the boat. I have had 2 quotes from body shops. Gelcoat = $3200....Clear coat = $2000....We as a club at school do not have that kind of money to have it done. Any suggestions or idea that might help restore the shine back to this boat? Any products out there that a teacher and some students could apply?...Thanks

Ayuh,.... Sand it off, Smooth, 'n Paint it the school's colors...

I suggest Rustoleum industrial enamel...

There is no saving those glitter coated finishes...

The high school I went to had a body shop, if your's does they should be able to make a great project of it and save you the bucks too. As said above, let the body shop students sand her down and shoot with your school colors....automotive enamel is okay.
