Lots of detailed pictures of the progress (before, during, after) or it never happened.

As a bonus, with the right pictures taken at the right moments will definitely save time by being a data reference for how it was installed or what order it was removed.

Some stuff doesn't come with any instructions and that's the only way to retain that information.

New transom, deck (no pressure treated). Fix the mechanics that need it. Beyond that everything is cosmetic

Welcome @Neschenbrenner Nice looking boat. Decent shape could mean a lot of things. Share some plans you have for her and more pictures. Also consider having your thread moved to the starcraft boat section.

Looks like it got moved 😁

Lots of guys here are familiar with your boat, and all starcraft aluminum boats have a lot in common. Your boat could be a big project but whether its a complete tear down and build up, or just a small refit, we are here to help.

@racerone would be able to give you the rundown on them. If they spin over with good compression, there is a solid chance they are serviceable. Pretty cool it’s an outboard version and it has twins.

Double floor is a Re-deck and is commonly found. Just tear it out with the transom that’s also likely rotten and replace it with ACX or better plywood.

Also seems like I have some sort of double layer floor going on.
that is a "deck-over" the boating equivalent of a used car company using the sunday newspaper and 5 gallons of bondo on a car to sell it.

it basically means the original floor rotted, and to make a quick sale, they put a second floor over it.

pull the floor, pull the wet foam, pull the rotten transom.

replace the rotten transom, replace the foam, replace the floor.

on a tin boat, that is about 2 weekends worth of work

The engines are 1984 model I believe.-------Post the compression test values.-----They will need new impellers before the season starts.---Oil injection system ( if equipped with that ) must be checked before roaring away from the ramp.-----These are wonderful simple motors in my opinion.

I'm going to try and pick up a battery tomorrow. Anything I should do before trying to turn over the engines? I don't know how long they have been sitting. I do know it's been outside for at least 1 year. Thanks for your help.

I would do a complete inspection before deciding on materials and a path forward.

Buy a remote start switch if you don't have a man overboard kill switch and wire it into the starter solenoid to do compression test. Battery positive on one lead, then the other lead to the starter solenoid post that has the yellow and red striped wire on it.

The key thing is you want that ignition off when you do the compression test.

Put some water flushers on the motor when you do the compression test, especially with unknown status of impeller.

Don't do anything further with the outboards until you determine engine condition, unless you like wasting hundreds of dollars on bad engine.

Why do I need the ignition off for a compression test?
