My Black Max had a Idle Stabilizer module that was mounted on top
of the top cylinder. The original white stamped part number is no longer visible. I have been running the motor without the module with a little variance in idle RPM but nothing to be concerned about. I would like to put on a NEW idle stabilizer module for peace of mind but I can't find a replacement labeled "idle stabilizer". I did find a RPM LIMITER module but my model does not use this module as I know it is a idle stabilizer from my Mercury wiring diagram for this motor. Does anyone know the correct Merc part number for this module or a replacement number for it.
My serial number is A114423.
Thanks:confused:

In case the last link fails,

http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectSerailRange.asp?doc_nbr=V-150+Work

http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectDocs.asp?doc_nbr=818855

http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...inbr=575&bnbr=390&bdesc=V-150+XR-2+Components

shows the part NLA, you may get lucky, but last time I ordered an NLA part thru Seaway Marine in Seattle they got me for 3X's list, I HADTO cause the customers motor wouldn't run without it.

Your choice, but the idle stabilizer is NOT mandatory.

Wandering idle is a normal occurance when the idle stabilizer is working. What it does is advance the timing a few degrees if the idle speed is too low.

The part is NLA because he idle stabilizer isn't needed if your engine is in decent tune. Most shops will just discard it and set the idle speed slightly higher.

hope it helps
