1985 21' Chris Craft Cuddy Scorpion

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and boating.. I have owned a few jetskis, and a couple of my buddies have boats.. I have an idea in what to look for prior to purchasing a boat but just looking to get a head start on this specific make and model.

If any one knows what i should pay special attention to while checking out this bout i would greatly appreciate it.

That boat's 25 years old. Who made it hardly even matters anymore- it's all about current condition.

You don't say what engine/drive package is in there. I'd stay away from anything other than a Volvo-Penta or Mercruiser, marinized GM motor.

OMC (outdrive manufacturer), Ford and Chrysler (the motors) all have been out of the game for many years- parts and repair support are getting harder to find.

Have it surveyed, including a complete mechanical and electrical inspection.

It has a Mercruiser 350 with an Alpha One out-drive.. so thats definitely a plus!

I have a 1986 version, and I like it. Condition is the most important thing, if you can get everything back to normal, or as it was when new, they are a great boat. As long as some previous owner didn't do a bunch of stupid things, it should be a trouble free boat. Any idea how many hours are on it?

I have a 1985 210 Scorpion cabin cuddy with a 5.7 Chevy and love it! Only problem I have had was my own fault for failing to change the impeller and I got it hot and caused some linkage damage and melted a exhaust boot but and looking right now for the cables to fix the linkage!
