1985 25XD usually starts fine but every few mornings I can (after pulling my arm out of socket) get it to fire on one cylinder only. If I manage to keep it chugging along on one cylinder for two or three minutes the other cylinder will finally fire and it immediately runs fine the rest of the day. I always run the carb dry for winter storage and go through it for a good spring cleaning. I hate paying so much for those fits everything carb kits when at most I need the fuel pump gasket and maybe a needle valve. I'm leaning more to the spark side of things. Swapping in new plugs has no effect so it must be further upstream. Coils, stator and the rest are all original parts. Just wondering how to test before throwing money at it. The only thing I might suspect on the fuel side is if the reeds are sticking. I use it to pack my Deer camp into remote roadless areas and prefer not to get stranded.
