Help, help,

I have a 1985 50HP Evinrude and two months ago I have the carbs replace by a local shop and today I notice there was gas build up under the carbs. It looks like gas leaked from the carbs. Is there something that I can do to fix or do I need to take it back into the shop? I'm a new boat owner so I not sure if this is a problem?

Thanks in advance.

Fuel leaks out of the carbs when you tilt up the motor so seeing gas and oil build up does not necessarily mean they are bad or leaking.
Just wipe the area dry and run without the cowling so you can keep an eye on things and see if indeed they leak while running.

If it was just done 2 months ago I would take it back to the shop, you shouldn't have a problem already.

I ran it again with the cover off and after a while notice a little gas leaking out, then the motor shut down. After about 5 mins it started right up and didn't leak???

I'm wondering if I flooding the motor by priming the bulb on the gas line?

You shouldn't be able to do that, you should be able to pump the bulb hard without it leaking.

I may be as simple as a leaking hose connection, try pumping the bulb hard and just looking for leaks, pay close attention to any hose connections, I know I will get one of my zip ties dripping once in a while.
