I have a freshly overhauled 70HP without power tilt and trim, and a brand new in the box 1989 power tilt and trim unit, with sender, harness, guage and relays.
Is there anything else I need to convert this motor to power tilt and trim?
Does the power tilt unit use the same bracket as the manual tilt motor? The tilt and trim unit I have is a factory replacement kit for a 3cyl or V4. I don't have a motor here that already has power tilt to compare to.

sounds like you got everything.
It should bolt up to your existing brackets.
you will need to remove your current shock gas cylinder and some of the other manual tilt hardware.
Did the exact same upgrade to mine about a year ago and it was relitively easy and I did not have to remove the motor to do it.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but I just want to clairify, as I'm considering this upgrade as well. Are the manual tilt transom brackets identical to the tilt and trim brackets?

Thanks
