Well, the first issue I have with my 1985 70hp Evinrude....Under full throttle going with the waves (on Lake Michigan), it has stalled on me about 4-5 times. When it stalls it does not quit right away, but gradually the motor slows down until it dies out. This is as if it runs out of gas. It will fire right up and continue on without problems until the same curcumstance happens again (bulb is firm after this happens). I've noticed that this only happens when going with the waves, its the kind of waves that are "soft" but slow the boat way down when you hit them (and you have water gushing to the sides). It only happens under full thottle, 3/4 throttle works just fine. I troll with this motor as well for 3-6hrs but I haven't noticed a tie between the issue and trolling. I ran seafoam thruough it, which didn't do anything in the way motor runs. Anyone have any ideas, or could this be normal?
BTW, motor runs perfectly besides the above mentioned issue. Fires right up, runs strong and stays running strong. Also, I did notice I had a little fuel leak where a plastic clamp broke that holds a fuel line, which I fixed today (it was only a few drops worth of gas).
Thanks for any suggestions.
