1985 75hp 4cyl fuel issue

Carbs have been rebuilt engine will not start unless gas oil mix sprayed into carb first. thinking it is fuel pump. any advice confiramation would be greatly appreciated

yes runs well matter of fact. it was suggested to me to rebuild fuel pump since it runs once it is started

All carb throttle plates have to be closed in order for the motor to start...did you do the lync and sync after reinstalling the carbs??? this is the single most missed item when people do the carbs on outboards...motor will run like crap, not idle, fall on its face etc..etc...good luck
