I recently bought this motor and it has the two carbs but someone before me broke the brass inlet fittings and replaced them with plastic or nytril or whatever.and smeared epoxy (j b weld it looks like) all over them. Does anyone know if these are pressed in or threaded prior to me trying to take the existing out and installing new if possible? when I take the lower float bowl cover off I can see a brass nipple section which I can use as a drill guide. Or are they pressed in using a thin epoxy around the shoulders. thanks in advance.

Most of those float bowls had plastic fittings which were part of the bowl. Sounds like somebody cobbled something.

turns out they are plastic pressed into the metal bowl and some one had heavy handed them while either putting on fuel lines or taking off fuel lines instead of cutting them.

I ended up buying 2 used bowl bottoms at a very reasonable price. ONe has a plastic fitting, the other brass.
