Picked up a 1985 Bayliner bass 1710 for cheap (200 w/ nice trailer) and in the process of rebuilding it. All wood has to be replaced which is not a big problem as my hobby is woodworking. Fiberglassing does not scare me as I have done that in the past on a car. I will have to fiberglass some 1/2" ply above the stringers to form a shelf that supports the floor, but that plywood may in fact be the floor. The original wood down there was so rotted that I could not use it as templates.
Here is a picture standing between the consols looking back. I have already cut away most of the fiber glass covering the plywood (area of cracked glass)
Any one have pics of what this area is supposed to look like. Does the glass support the cargo hatches or is there additional ply above the glass to support the hatches?
