1985 Evenrude 40 hp tiller with manual tilt and I want to change to power tilt

Can I buy a power tilt and trim unit from an existing 1985 Evenrude 40 hp and install onto this unit. It is a tiller unit. Just bought the boat without the power trim cause the deal was good but I like power. Never worked on boat motors before. If I buy one will it bolt on to this unit or do I have to remove motor from boat etc. etc. If it is possible, from what year to what year unit would work?

Look in the "Top Secret File" at the top of the page, there is a list of salvage yards there. Contact some close to you and see if they can help you out with parts and availabilty.
