1985 force 125 got hot ,(help frank)

whats up guys,i was out on the water yesterday we were on plane running about 4000 rpm's and the impeller went out and it overheated abd shut off ,i let it cool down and tried to start it , it wanted to start but it sounded like one of the cylinders lost compression. I got it home and pulled the head off ,cylinders 1,2,4 look great ,you can see the cross hatches in them,cylinder 3 is scraped up on the bottom and top ,not bad but was.It looks like the ring broke and went up and down the cylinder wall. Now my question is can i rehone that cylinder ,rering the piston and get it up to running condition

That depends on how bad it is.Take it to a machine shop and ask them how much you will have to hone/cut down to make it servicable.If they can get away with 002-003 you probably can just re-ring. If it goes much more than that then it's 010 over and new piston.
If you were running and the impeller went bad what was the reason it went?You pick up a bag or have an old impeller?Jerry
