I have posted several questions on the forum and I am finally getting around to posting pictures of my boat. About a year ago my brother and I got our boat running right and on the water and a crappy repair job in the hull from previous owners had us racing to the dock to keep it from sinking. After ripping up the floor we noticed the stringers were rotten and after getting rid of them found our transom needed replacing as well. Since we were doing all this work we decided to go with a stern drive setup purchasing an old '77 searay srv 195 getting the v8 350 bored to a 383 not stroked mercruiser and alpha outdrive with all the goodies from it to convert ours. Almost a year later we finally got ourselves in gear and cut the stringers and finally got them mounted.

This is our first time doing this. We removed one stringer at a time and with one removed we replaced them with new wood. The wood is 2x12x16 2x10x12 and 2x6x8. I know this will be stronger than original. We glassed them in halfway up the side and part way down the floor. Do we need to have bulkheads?

We want this boat to be just as strong we are only using it on the lake. Again this is our first time and hopefully last time. What are your opinions.

I dont know where Im going to put the tank right now not too worried about it. This is my first time rebuilding a boat, I'm used to cars and motorcycles.

The only reason I mentioned it is, most are mounted below deck. Now would be a good time to plan it out.

Again details, all the tanks I have and have seen are too big and will not fit under the floor anyways.

Im more worried about the stringers and bulkheads holding up right now.

Im just going to stick the tank under a seat have it above floor, not that big deal for me again Im more worried about the boats strength of holding together
