1985 GT150 troubles

Hello everyone, I have a 1985 GT150 that is giving me a little trouble. I think I have found it to be that everything (throttle and timeing is all out of adjustment, the engine has trouble at idle and going into reverse. The problem could lbe other places but I would like to make sure all the linkage is where its supposed to be. Does anyone have any info on this? how to adjust everything? Thanks

Everyone who has the OEM Service manual knows how to do all that, jlds. You need to get, and use, one too.

A quick tip. Disconnect the throttle/shift cables at the engine end. Shift the throttle and gearshift levers by hand. Note the normal full sweep of each, then adjust the cable ends to match, then secure in place.

Try Original outboard product and service manuals for Johnson, Evinrude, Gale, and OMC
