While driving across the lake, I can only go about half throttle (maybe 2500 rpm).
If I go faster (3000-4000 rpm) the motor stalls and acts like it has runn out of gas.
If I stay slow, all is fine. I can drive all day.
When it quits, the bulb in the fuel line is soft, so I pump it up and everything runs great.

Anyone got any ideas what's wrong?

thanks
Ron

If the bulb is soft, you may be sucking air somewhere. Check all your clamps and hoses and if it's been awhile, change your bulb if it's cracked or brittle. Check valve in bulb may be bad but engine has more vacume at higher rpm so check all your connections and hoses first.
Make sure there are no kinks and the like.

keep us posted.

You have all the symtoms of a failing fuel pump in need of a rebuild.
