Hey guys, I am new here, I just bought my first boat. It's a 1985 Procraft 1650V with a Johnson 150 GT on it. I have a few questions, and one slight problem.
When I bought the boat, I made sure the engine fired up, and that the trim/tilt worked. I put the engine up, and got her home, to find out that the tilt would no longer allow the engine to go down. I've checked all my connections at the tilt motor and everything is good. I know its not the switch cause there's one on the throttle and one on the back of the boat. The odd part is that the motor will engage UP, but not Down. It's fully up right now.
another question, since i'm new to outboards i have to ask. How can you tell if these engines are overheating? I'm an auto tech for Ford, and that's one of my pet peeves with this boat. It has no temp gauge, so i can't check her vitals.
Thanks!
