~1985 Mariner 90HP Throttle/Controller??

Another question. Will this work with my outboard?
Side mount dual lever engine control, this type of control is used for controlling the throttle and clutch of inboard or outboard engines it will accept either the Morse or Teleflex cables.

picture can be seen below

If not, what is a good source for a new remote controler( is that the right term?)? and what can I expect to pay. What do I need to look for to make sure that it is compatible?

It currently has a quicksilver one but the trim button does not work and it is a little rough. (new trim toggle was installed into the dash in the boat, so I don't really need to have that if I can find a decent one for cheap )

Thanks,
Greg

Re: ~1985 Mariner 90HP Throttle/Controller??

personally I would not use that. I belive the controler you have is the same as mine. If so you have a enricher system(that button you push in with the key, "choke")this is an electric circuit. and that controler is pretty complex, alot more to it than pulling cables. neutral saftey switch, and well lots of stuff. I thought about taking mine apart to lube it, being as it sat for a while but seeing the diagram I opted to just use it.
If you don have that controler I dont know really what to say, I guess it would be helpfull to know just what you have.
