I need a little help.
Pix below show the throttle lever and top cowl latch for my new-to-me 1985 Mercury 50HP 4 cylinder engine. The PO made some "band-aid" fixes which I need to address.
The housing cover is broken and the throttle/shift lever is broken and has been taped together with electrical tape. The end of the trim button has broken off, the "trailer" button works okay, the "throttle only" button is broken, doesn't work and is missing the button cover so I can't change engine speed without putting it into gear. I've looked on c-list and ebay but not found the correct binnacle for this engine. The lever assembly clearly needs to be replaced. A complete replacement binnacle would be nice to find.
The top cowl latch (on the front) is broken and apparently missing a latching lever part. I can't find any pix of what it needs. I think my buddy can make a replacement for the fork shaped part but I have no clue about what to do about a missing latch part that I can't describe.
Any help?
Thanks! :joyous:
