I purchased the trim switch # 805320a3 thinking this is the switch for the left side of the 140 outboard Mercruiser (on the left of the outboard looking from the rear). What is the switch # for the one on the right? I have an issue with trim not working up or down, both solenoids replaced and work if jumped, switch on the throttle works also, I believe that the trim switches are bad (wires are about gone and eaten away). At my wits end trying to figure the reason why not working. So I just want to replace the 2 switches on the outboard, "tilt, trim, and limit). I already have the part 805320a3. Help, please? Thanks. Joe.

The one marked T.L. is trim limit and the one marked T.S. is the sender for the gauge

That kit, 805320a3, contains both switches, trim limit and trim sender.

The trim limit switch (port side of the gimbal ring) is connected into the trim pump harness and will, as it's description implies, limit the travel, but in the UP mode only. If the switch fails or is adjusted incorrectly, then the ability to trim UP will be lost, but the 'DOWN' and 'TRAILER' will still work. As this is a 'common' failure, a lot of people just put a small jumper wire in the harness to effectively remove the limit switch form the circuit. This will allow the 'TRIM UP' to raise the drive to the full UP position. This is also an excellent diagnostic check.

The trim sender (on the stbd side) is only connected to the trim gauge, and has no effect on the trim pump.
