Hey guys I recently was out fishing and got a clog over my intake and didnt notice no water out the telltale untill i started to lose power than killed the engine for a 1.5 hour paddle home.... anyways i pulled the powerhead apart to clean out water jacket and noticed a piston was scorched, so im ordering a top end for the motor but i have a question about the crank, there are three bearings supporting the crank, a top and bottom ball bearing and a top caged needle bearing, my question is, does that needle bearing get its lubrication from the fuel mixture or does it need to be greased seperately? anybody know that recently did a rebuild would be fantastic thanks!

All the powerhead bearings get oil from the fuel.

Thanks for the answer! i thought so seeing as the top seal was above the needle bearing, but it looked like some grease was on the bearings when i dis assembled so i was curious lol. my 600rs race snowmobile has greased end bearings.
