I just bought a 1985 Bass Tracker 1710 with 1985 Mercury Blackmax 150
Runs great, starts every time, runs the boat at about 50mph. I was just wondering what the little rubber like plug is that is located were the engine water should be peeing out of.
I also have a problem with my power trim/tilt. The solinoids only click when the trailer button is pushed and the up button (bow up) is pushed. Nothing happenes. Supplied 12v straight to the trim motor both directions and nothing. Probably the pump motor.

Just wonding if anyone has any info for a new bass boat owner and bnew mercury 150hp blackmax owner

Thank You

sounds like your trim motor is bad. You should have the three ram system, if so, you will have to remove motor from boat, in order to replace trim motor. their should be 6 bolts that mount the trim assy, on the motor, plus a cross pin that holds the retaining pin in. you only need to replace the trim motor, Which has 2 screw that hold it on the assy. Not the complete assy. Trim motor run from $150.00 to $300.00. Good luck.

You can do it by just removeing the right side mounting bracket. The procedures are in the Merc Manual. You should have a engine hoist or simialr method of relieving the engine weight from the transom but you don't need to tear down then entire swivel bracket.
