I have a 1985 Sea Ray 250 Sundancer and would like any information at all concerning tis particular model and year. I am going to restore the boat and would like to keep it as original as possible. Power train is a no brainer I think, whatever I have to do to maintain and keep it operational.

Re: 1985 Sea Ray 250 Sundancer

Welcome to iboats!

Any boat of that vintage regardless of manufacturer, is going to have potential problems. We cannot offer you any real help without knowing what your boats current issues are. Have you had the boat and its powertrain inspected? Are there any known areas of concern that you wish us to address? You need to be specific in your questions if you expect any responses here. There are many folks with a bevy of knowledge who want to give you great advice. You just need to give us a problem to work with.

Cheers!

Rebed ( reseal ) as much as you can first and formost. Cleats, rails, windows, ports, snaps etc.

3m 4000 should be used for most of it.

Re: 1985 Sea Ray 250 Sundancer

Thanks for the insight fellas, I have no "issues" as of right now. The powertrain, and other mechanical areas or for the most part "operational". I will float test it tomorrow morning and expect it to go well. Even though it has been seven years since It has been sea worthy I do not expect any major problems. I also do expect it to run like a new boat either. There are a few gauges that i might have to replace and of course a major amount of cleaning and restoration. If I did not feel the boat was safe enough to float then I would stay at home tomorrow. All I was hoping for was that mayb someone else had the same boat or close to it and would be able to help me locate vintage sea ray items for the boat so that I would be able to keep it as original as possible. Thanks and talk to you guys later!
