I am looking at a 2250 pursuit boat with twin 150 yamaha's. the boat was running 4 or 5 years ago and the oil buzzer went off on one motor so he cut it off and took the boat out and parked it and started to check everything out and it just sit there until now. neither motor will start with the key. so we jumped the starter and checked the compression which is good. then I found out he took the oil tanks out because the pumps were rusted.and took the neutral safty switch loose to try to jump it. I need to know how to bypass these things just long enough to here them run .so I can buy it and then fix it right. THANK'S for any help.

I would pull the spark plugs and shine a light in each cylinder and see if they are clean or toast,Sounds like it sat for a reason.....
If you want to rebuild some ones else mess and enjoy it ,jump in feet 1st. It would have to be a good deal and think about now you would have to pre mix your gas and oil for 50 +gallons of gas. Sorry if you take my answer the wrong way but just trying to help.

I will take any help you give me. the boat is nice and I would fix the oil injection, we got the motors to turn over by going straight to starter and all cylinders had 120 pounds of compression. I just would like to crank them before i pay and I think if I bypass neutral switch and plug off oiler and sensor and hook to fresh tank of gas they would crank just long enough to know they are worth fixing I just don't have any info on cranking system.
Thanks Randall
