1986 150 no spark ?

I have a 1986 Yam 150 and no spark at all I just put on a new powerhead and nothing I checked the stator and the trigger both have out put then on the powerpack side nothng coming out to the coils I have checked the kill cirsuit and its good the black and white wires going to the coil are grounded ? and the blck wires from the coil are grounded now how can it have a spark or electricity if both wires are grounded ?

Do you have controls attached? up-plug main connector in wiring harness to controls and jump across at starter soiliniod- it should spark. If it sparks, kill switch in controls is taking you out. If not, then re-check on power head kill circuit- disconnect bk/wh wire(s) and check again.

the blk/white wires are coil primary inputs not grounds, the black wire off the coil is a ground.
the white wire at the CDI is kill circuit. take or short it to ground and CDI output is shunted to ground.
remove the white wire from the CDI and retest for spark.
post if you now have it. cause now your chasing 2 problems.
