Hi all,
I’m bringing back to life a 1986 Johnson 150HP that’s been sitting for a while. When I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position a continuous beeping comes from the control box, when cranking the beep goes away and when the engine is running the beeping persists. According to the manual this means either high temp(which isn’t possible) or fuel line obstruction? I’m just curious how it would know there’s a fuel line obstruction before even cranking the engine.
Secondly, the oil line coming to the VRO pump has been severed by some nesting rodents. I was curious if I could simply plug that line and mix my own oil/fuel and be good to go. Or will the pump only function properly if both oil and fuel are present and therefore needs to be replaced. Thanks.
