THANKS FOR THE RESPONCE .SINCE THE LAST POST AT THE BEGINING OF THE WEEK. I HAVE SINCE HAVE CHANGED THE FUIL WATER SEPARATER AND THE IN LINE GAS FILTER, AND INSTALED NEW PLUGS, I ALSO HAD 1 BAD SPARK PLUG WIRE.THAT GAVE ME A SHOCK WHEN I TOUCHED IT, , THE MOTOR STILL RUNS ROUGH AT IDLE AND AND SOUNDS AS IF IT WANTS TO STALL AFTER COMMING DOWN FROME PLANE BUT IT DOES NOT SURGE UP OR DOWN AS IT DID BEFORE I DID THESE REPAIRES. NOW IT RUNS DIFFREANTE? THE OLD PLUGS DID NOT LOOK THAT BAD .SO I KNOW IT IS FIRING ON ALL 6 CYL. IT ALSO SEEMS TO SMOKE A LOT AT IDLE ,IT HAS THE VRO/MAYBE I SHOULD JUST MIK OIL WITH THE GASS. IN THE LAS RESPONCE I WAS TOLD THAT SOME 1986 CARBS HAD TO BE CHANGED DUE TO IDLE PROUBLEMS DEPENDING UPON THE NUMBERS MY # ON THE CARBS ARE 395039, I ALSO SEEM TO HAVE A<br />BAD GROUND BECAUSe THE TAC CUTS OUT SOMETIMES AND THE TEMP GAGE PINS WHEN I START UP THE MOTOR/ DOINT YOU LOVE OLD OUTBOARDS.I WILL DO A COMPRESSION TEST , BUT I DOINT WANT TO KNOW ,IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. HOW CAN I CLEAN THE CARBS/ THANKS TO ALL WHO RESPOUND ps I LET IT IDLE AT THE DOCK FOR ABOUT 15 MIN and it seems to smoke a lot and runs fine for a while and then start to sputter .and THE heads are running cool enough you can touch them for about 7 secounds before you have to move your hand ...HELP
