1986 2150 /280 out drive/what prop/replacement

thanks i have a 2150 it is a 1986 with a 280 i want to put a new prop on it but the old one has nothing on it.i mean nothing no markings at all and i can tell it is a very cheap one that i know

Have you looked under the prop nut.Aluminum/stainless? I'm a little on the outside of boat I D
but to me 2150 means nothing except probably 21 ft.,280? HP? model number?
OMC,Mercruiser,Volvo??Unfortunately unless someone happens to have the same boat we can't help much.A prop shop can measure your prop size.
If you get us the prop size,max rpm and speed and rated rpm off label on the motor we can probably be able to help.

this is a 5.7 l. 280 volvo out drive

I've got the same motor with a 275 outdrive (basically the same).

AQ260? 260hp.

when you buy a prop for that outdrive you'll need to know if it has a long hub or short. I measured an old short prop hub and its about 3.75 inches. I have the long hub on mine but its not here to measure.

I run a 21 inch prop on mine.

So what type of boating are you doing? Cuising, tubing? Might change your choice of prop.

What RPM are you getting at WOT with the current prop? You want to be low to mid 4000's with that motor.

I would get the current Prop measured and go from there.
