When I bought a pontoon with this motor the previous owner said it had a bad coil. When I got it home and got the motor running it was only running on one cylinder (the top one)...the bottom cylinder had no spark. I robbed a coil off a junk motor we had and replaced the coil for the bottom cylinder and the bottom cylinder started firing but then the top cylinder stopped firing.
Long story short I've messed around swapping out coils and this same scenerio keeps happening.....only one cylinder firing but sometime its the top cylinder and sometimes its the bottom. I've tried to do some testing but I really haven't got a good understanding of how to do this....so it hasn't been benificial to me.
I'm considering trying a new switchbox but would be interested in any thoughts of other possible causes.
