Trying to find a key for a 1986 Mariner motor (0B146753). I have a quicksilver ignition switch and I have taken it apart and no luck finding a number on it. Is there anyway of getting a key or am I gonna have to rewire a new ignition switch? Any advice helps thanks,Mike

Is the number not on the barrel ? Being honest they aren’t the most cutting edge in terms of specific fit. A clever use of a screwdriver usually starts most of these old boxes.
If you have friends with mercury engines...there’s a good chance one of them will fit yours.

I can't find a number anywhere? What do you mean by barrel? It is not on back at all. Is the number on a sticker because. There definitely is no stickers thanks

See where the key goes in. The bit it goes into usually has a threaded nut into the side of the remote box. If you undo that you can sometimes pull the barrel out enough to see a number stamped on it. Usually a 3 digit I think. Certainly the case for some of these things. You can then get a key the same on eBay for a few bucks.
