I worked on this thing for a friend thought i had it WRONG. when at idle it stalls i thought it was going rich. then on a test drive just before stalling i hit the choke and it picked back up. i did a search here on what the float level should be everyone says the book! I do not have one and i canot believe there is that many different specs on float level adj, just height and drop. carbs have new merc kits in them good comp 120 on all cyl. and the venturs are in place. hope someone knows this one. when carb is upside down should the float be level, below of above the bowl line on body????? thanks for any replys.

thanks doc! i had them there and it still did the idle lean out then stall it gets real bad when triming at idle too. i will put them level and check idle circut again. if i cant get this it is carbration problem, what do you think about replacing the carbs. thanks again....

brass flange? have brass nozzle that holds the venturi in. are you talking in the throat? is it behind throttle plate or choke plate? even though it is leaning at idle. it seems to put a good rainbow in the water is the lower crank seal known to go bad? I have been doing boats for 15 years and have only say one upper on a omc leak. I have sprayed it and have not found any leaks. I will be removing carbs tonite will post what i find for brass. thanks doc!!!!
