You'll have to wait for some of these old crusty guys to get out of bed to answer this one but I'm pretty sure there's an OMC commercial guide for that motor.

How would I order a carb kit for ab 86 , 6.5hp commercial motor nobody lists a 6.5
what is wrong with the carb anyway ? generally a good and complete cleaning solves the problem.

did you clean out the top low speed circuit... the small tube is a problem sometimes make certain it is clear ans installed properly. clean & blow all orifices.

if nothing is broken or internally damaged a good cleaning usually does it .

a sudden death sounds like a plugged carb....or fuel flow problem somewhere if not an electrical problem (sparks ok ??) .

Hello thanks for the response , so I'm curios how do I look up parts for a 6.5 , are they the same up to 8hp ? Just can't seem to find these motors listed in any parts source ?

Okay I was wondering that ,I'm thinking the motor shares all the same parts with 6/8 horse , and am I right that the lower unit is different and from a 3 cyl ?

??----There is no comparison between this little gearcase used on the 4.5 / 6 / 6.5 / 7.5 / 8 hp and that of the 3 cylinder 25 / 35 HP.-----Do you not have a dealer in your area that you can trust ?

That refers to the difference in gearcases on the 2 cylinder 45 HP , yes 45 hp outboards.-----The 2 cylinder 40 / 45 / 48 / 50 / 60 HP gearcases are not known to be robust !!----Therefor the 3 cylinder 70 HP was adapted for them.-----The little 6 / 7.5 / 8 HP motor does not need the " monster " 25 / 35 HP gearcase !!!
