1986 75hp mariner 4cylinder

Bought used boat. Ran good on rabbit ears. Took it to water. Ran fine for a little, then cut out. Cleaned carbs, in process of rebuilding fuel pump. Any thing I could do if this doesn’t solve problem? Thanks.

Replace the water pump impeller.
Check compression
check that spark can jump a 3/8" gap on all cylinders
check that fuel tank vents are open
