1986 9.9 Yamaha lower unit

I ve read the last tread and mine seems to be the same but I can only find (4) bolts and the shift rod and I tryed prying with flat head screw drivers only to move it less than a 1/32" I really done want to damage anything buy forceing it any ideas Thanks Bob

question after beating on this lower housing and only getting a screw driver blade between the midsection and the lower unit what else is left I am thinking pulling the lower unit apart unbolting the drive shaft and removing the lower unit that way and then work on the drive shaft inside the crankshaft is this the only way or has someone else gone tru this problem thanks bob

someone told me that to loosen up on the powerhead bolts and run the engine in a barrel that it would loosen up the corrosion while prying on one side of the power head. sounds like it may work does anyone else have any ideas, this must happen often to older salt water motors.

Guys I tryed running the engine on muffs no propeller and lossened the 4 bolts while running the engine and prying a little at a time and belong it came off what a trick I am suprised no one knew this works great now how do we clean the crank shaft spline Thanks Bob
