1986 Carver Mariner V-drives (new Seacocks)

Hello Everyone...This is my first post. I bought this boat and we need to replace the through hull fittings and both seacocks. Has anyone done this yet? I am thinking of grinding off the metal on the bottom of the boat and then pulling it through the inside and then replacing the whole set-up. Any advice..the boat has 2 305's.
