Had lots of problems on starting and idle! Solved most of them, finally got out on lake, ran great for the most part! Did stall after trolling for a while, but restarted fine! Then noticed at wot or trottle up i would trim it and it would stumble down to idle and would stall if i try to throttle in gear! Rev up fine in neutral, once in gear, would not! After trolling it for a while, it would be fine until i would trim at wot or 3/4 wot! Any thoughts out there on why trimming would cause this? Dirt in carbs??? Thanks for your voices!!!!

1st----when was the last time the carbs were gone through? do you run gas that has enthnoal in it, if so do you use some type of treatment for it??

2nd-- it could be a problem with in the electric system "weak coil, power pack, ect" causing a shortage of fire to the motor when you use the trim "a high demand for voltage" at the same time you are running...

i would ohm out the coils and make sure they are good, look for any signs of shortages in the electical systems, clean and rebuild carbs....

Just some ideas.....

Best Of Luck

Thanks, i really think that the weak power idea is right! Never crossed my mind, and looking back and checking things,,, i found loose wires on the battery also, AFTER GETTING HOME! Going thru them now! The boat is new for me, so i don't know a lot of back ground! Not sure about the enthnoal, get gas at local gas stations and will start checking,, what is the cure, never thought about an additive??? Thanks,,really, 2 brains are better than 1, and i only have about 1/2 these days,,,ha ha.

cure for enthnoal is dont buy any if you can help it....... But if its a must.
Only buy what you are going to use, never let it set for very long.
Be sure have a water/fuel seperator
Additive i use is lucas ethanol fuel conditioner
But i am sure any thing made for ethanol would be fine"stabil, lucas, enzyme," you can usally get some at your local walmart...

Best of luck to ya

Hi, don't know aboutdown south, but up here in the NE, you don't have any choice, thats all I can find is enthnoal gas!!! Thanks for the advice though, would if I could. Seems like the problem gets worse as it warms up! guessing not the coils, just because all 6 seem to have a weak spark! looking at the stator ***. and the cdi! Any idea which is more likely to cause/go bad? Don't have a lot of outboard test tools! I did clean the carbs. Any idea of the fuel pump pressure or volume to check, have a gauge but the factory manual doesn't give any spec? Thanks again, Larry!

Found a bad throttle valve switch, which advances timing, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! This was thanks to a nice factory suzuki tech!!
